How we make our glasses

Every pair of glasses starts with a concept in our headquarters in Rome and then goes through several steps from sourcing the materials, to production, to lens fitting and quality control until they land in your hands.

Starting with the DESIGN in Rome...

From one of the leading fashion capitals of the world is where it all starts.

Our team puts together mood boards for inspiration, sketches initial designs, and maps out product details for prototyping.

How MATERIALS are made...

Colored pigments are mixed with acetone.

Colors are added to the neutral acetate compound.

The acetate is cut into chips and mixed together.

It is placed in a mold and pressed together into one block.

Once fully cured, the acetate blocks are sliced. The sheets are malleable and bendy.

The sheets are then hung for heat stabilisation.

The fronts are polished in wooden-chips filled tumbling barrels.

Multiple times of hand-buffing on a polishing wheel give the glasses an extra-glossy finish

Lenses & Quality Control...

Your custom lenses are checked for quality.

They are edged on a CNC machine according to your frame shape.

The lenses are drilled using a CNC machine.

Your prescription lenses are checked for any quality issues, before going through several steps of CNC milling and drilling.

The prescription is checked one last time after which the frame is bench aligned.

Your lenses are mounted and go through a last step of quality inspection.
